Blah...

This Florida heat is getting to be unbearable....
Its not even July and you can't spend more than 20 minutes outside without sweating like a pig.
Its not pretty.
The only thing you can do about this heat is A)Find a friend with a pool or B)Go into hibernation till October.
I still haven't decided which one I'm doing.

Tomorrow supposedly starts my 7 week 5k training.
I said that last week too.
If its this hot for the 5k in September,I'm not sure I wanna risk my life for it.

On a happy note,I bought my tickets to see All Star Weekend in August. I love when House of Blues has the 4-pack deal. It ended up being only $16 per tickets including taxes and fees!!!
That's a great deal.
The idea is to somehow convince H.O.B. they should issue me a press pass.
And in the end,get an interview from the guy for the hot sauce documentary.
That would be epic.
The documentary still needs a name,so feel free to suggest.

Movies...

Netflix instant stream is purely amazing.

Heres what I've been watching....

Season 4 of "Say Yes To The Dress"
Way to addictive....

"Julie and Julia"
Loved it and made me want to cook and blog about food.

"My best friends wedding"
I love 90's wedding movies.

Currently watching "The Business of Being Born". Its a documentary that will have you thinking twice about hospital births. I watched half of it in the airport coming back from Colorado and decided to finish it.

I love Hulu.com but theres alot more seasons of TV shows on Netflix.

Chic Star rocks my socks

Tonight I saw Violette in a very familiar dress. Familiar because I had just seen it on one of my favorite new 'vintage clothing' sites. Nothing less than this red pencil dress
DRESS HERE!

Chic Star is clearly better and a fraction of the price of any other online vintage clothing stores I've shopped at.

One of the coolest parts is the fact they give you store credit if you write a blog post about their site. I thought they were kidding until Vi tried it out and in nearly no time after that she showed up in her new dress! So check out chicstar.com and send it on. My blog could always use new readers, and I know everyone loves a good deal. I guess this counts as my "Deal Of The Week" post. I'm very excited to try this out and hope it all works. I'll keep you updated on all of this.

Week 0 Day 0

Thats how far I am in my 5k training.
I was supposed to star my 7 week training yesterday. And here I am. Sitting in my kitchen
thinking about weather to eat mint Oreos or Regular Oreos.
 Maybe next Monday I'll start.

BaNdS r0cK

Bands are difficult things.
Alot of patience is required.
And creative minds are also involved. I think every good band needs a musical genius. Fortunately our band has one, other wise our originals would probably stink.
Sunday we made defiant progress on our covers and even our originals. We've been hearing of other newly formed bands in the area, and that really pushed us to work harder.

With Sunday band practice,Monday writing session, and Tuesday band practice you would think we would make some progress.
I'll get back to you on Wednesday.
I'm just happy to be a part of a band that is focused (most of the time) and organized about what we're doing.
Even though we don't have a band name (suggestions being taken) I really think we will be ready to crush the competition soon.  Do I smell a battle of the bands brewing?

Toms CD came out Saturday if you were at his show and its available now here http://tommooremusic.com/music.cfm
I heard it was also going to be availabe on iTunes and Amazon but I'm not sure when.

Watch out for the "10 reasons you should buy Allstar Weekends new CD" video.
Hopefully up by tonight. :)

haha

It really hot today...and I found these and just had to share.
Enjoy!

You Know it's July in Florida When:
  • Hot water comes out of both taps.
  • You find out that a seatbelt buckle makes a pretty nice branding iron.
  • The trees are whistling for the dogs.
  • You find out that you can get sunburned through your car window.
  • The birds need to use potholders to pull worms out of the ground.
  • You burn your hand opening the car door.
  • The temperature drops below 95 and you put on a sweater.
  • You can make instant sun tea.
  • Shade determines the best parking space, not distance.
  • Farmers feed their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying hard boiled eggs.
  • When you step outside at 7:30 a.m., you break into a sweat.
  • Potatoes cook underground. This is convenient because all you have to do is pull one out and add salt, pepper and butter.
  • You discover that asphalt has a liquid state.
  • You realize that it only takes two fingers to steer your car.

True Floridians Know...
  • Socks are only for bowling.
  • You never use an umbrella because you know the rain will be over in five minutes.
  • A good parking place has nothing to do with distance from the store, but everything to do with shade.
  • Your winter coat is made of denim.
  • You can tell the difference between fire ant bites and mosquito bites.
  • You're younger than thirty but some of your friends are over 65.
  • Anything under 70 is chilly.
  • You've driven through Yeehaw Junction.
  • You could swim before you could read.
  • You have to drive north to get to The South.
  • You know that no other grocery store can compare to Publix.
  • Every other house in your neighborhood had blue roofs in 2004-2005.
  • You've gotten out of school early on Halloween to trick or treat before it got dark
  • You know that anything under a Category 3 just isn't worth waking up for.
  • You dread love bug season.
  • You are on a first name basis with the Hurricane list. They aren't Hurricane Charley, Hurricane Frances...but Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne.
  • You know what a snowbird is and when they'll leave.
  • You think a six-foot alligator is actually pretty average.
  • You were 12 before you ever saw snow, or you still haven't.
  • Down South' means Key West
  • You think New York drivers licenses should only be valid in New York .
  • Flip-flops are everyday wear.
  • Shoes are for business meetings and church, but you HAVE worn flip flops to church before.
  • Sweet tea can be served at any meal.
  • An alligator once walked through your neighborhood.
  • You smirk when a game show's 'Grand Prize' is a trip or cruise to Florida
  • You measure distance in minutes.
  • You have a drawer full of bathing suits, and one sweatshirt.
  • You get annoyed at the tourists who feed seagulls.
  • A mountain is any hill 100 feet above sea level.
  • You think everyone from a bigger city has a northern accent.
  • You know the four seasons really are: hurricane season, love bug season, tourist season and summer
  • It's not soda, cola, or pop, it's coke, regardless of brand or flavor: 'What kinda coke you want?'
  • Anything under 95 is just warm.
  • You've hosted a hurricane party.
  • You go to a theme park for an afternoon, and know when to get on the best rides.
  • ( Space Mountain during the Electric Light Parade!)
  • You understand the futility of exterminating cockroaches.
  • You can pronounce Okeechobee, Kissimmee, Ichnatucknee and Withlacoochee
  • You understand why it's better to have a friend with a boat than to own a boat yourself.
  • Bumper stickers on the pickup in front of you include: various fish, NRA, NASCAR, Go Gators, and a confederate flag.
  • You were five before you realized they made houses without pools.
  • You were 25 when you first met someone who couldn't swim.
  • You've worn shorts and used the A/C on Christmas.
  • You recognize Miami-Dade as ' Northern Cuba '.

You know you drink to much coffee when....

You get a speeding ticket even when you're parked.
You grind your coffee beans in your mouth.
You sleep with your eyes open.
You watch videos in fast-forward.
You lick your coffeepot clean.
Your eyes stay open when you sneeze.
The nurse needs a scientific calculator to take your pulse.
You can type sixty words a minute with your feet.
You can jump-start your car without cables.
Your only source of nutrition comes from Sweet & Low.
You don't sweat, you percolate.
You've worn out the handle on your favorite coffee mug.
You go to AA meetings just for the free coffee.
You've worn the finish off you coffee table.
The Taster's Choice couple wants to adopt you.
Starbuck's owns the mortgage on your house.
You're so wired you pick up FM radio.
Instant coffee takes too long.
You want to be cremated just so you can spend eternity in a coffee can.
You name your cats Cream and Sugar.
Your lips are permanently stuck in the sipping position.
Your first-aid kit contains two pints of coffee with an I.V. hookup.

Deal of the Week

This deal I'm reallyyyy excited about....

If you've ever had to purchase glasses, you know how much they can be. Hundreds of dollars just for your frames.
The days of expensive, overpriced frames are over!
Check our Zenni Optical.
Frames start at $8!!!
And they only go up to about $30. All you need is your prescription from your optometrist and you pick a frame, enter all the information you got from the optometrist and your new glasses get mailed to you.
Buying frames online is a bit scary, but for $8 you could but 10 different frames and still not spend at much as if you went to a store!

I originally heard about it from Clark Howard and thought I'd look it up.
I'm looking into prescription sunglasses and Zenni is defiantly cheaper than anywhere else I've looked!
And shipping? $4.95 no matter how much you buy!

P.S. I found almost identical frames in the $8 section to the ones I bought for over $100!
