On the last day of Fall....

Well, I think I'm fully recovered.
From camping that is. Got a bit sick when we got back...tore through the weekend like a bull and crashed on Monday. But I'm feeling much better...trying to decide if it was allergies. I rejected getting sick for about the past month so it was about I come down with something.
A brief update from what was mentioned a few posts ago. I passed my CPT test!! My algebra score could use some help, but as long I'm not taking a class that requires it I don't have to worry about it.
Also got into the class I needed, with only one seat left. Scary close! I would love to take another class to fill up my credits, but the other class is the same day and time as my current one. Of course.

Also, the list I talked about a few posts ago? Well its not quite the end of the year,so I can't talk about the list yet... haha.

Going to Sea World for the first time in probably 6 or 7 years. Lets see if I'm any less of a wimp as far as the rides go. I doubt it.

Lets see...what else.
My foreign language pod casts are quite nice. Unfortunately the ones I've found only seem to cover the basics. Well,I've gotten past the basics on two languages now and I've hit a wall. Guess it time to learn the basics of more languages!

Well this last weekend was a weekend of much fun and excitement, along with celebrations and anniversary's of sorts. I think thats all I'm allowed to say,but you know what I'm talking about anyways.

Well I'm gonna go order my book and you should go to my Flickr and look at some pictures.

Some cool edits from the camping pictures

CAMPING!

Wrote about our trip during and on the way home....
Pics here
camping 2010

And here  http://www.flickr.com/photos/nerdygrl94/

Day 1
Got there mid afternoon after dodging the rain on the way. Set up in good time. And realized how cold this trip was going to be.
The guys were supposed to get there around 9 but they rolled in a nearly 11. We can just imagine how miserable it was to set up their tent in the cold and in the dark. Needless to say,we didn't help them.

Day 2
The day begin by greeting the late night arrivals. Cold and windy does not even begin to explain the weather. We enjoyed cooking our bacon over the hot fire while some enjoyed the Canadian Turkey bacon raw. We then found out how gourmet the guys menu was going to be. Indeed, much yummy food was cooked and devoured.
That night we did some fun pictures with long exposure and lay out by the water watching an amazing meteor shower.

Day 3
Again, the day begin by eating a massive amount of food for breakfast. The guys went fishing and the rest of us hung out at the site. We then later took a bike ride to go watch the guys fish but apparently as we were on our way on the bikes they were on the way back to the site. Lunch consisted of hot dogs and the guys made tacos.
Then a group of us took an adventure and drove out the the Sky Way Bridge. Stopping at the pier to take some really cool pictures. But it was extremely cold so we moved on. We found the town of Bradonton (I think thats how its spelled) and took some pictures at the river front and walked around for a bit until we realized there was nothing to do in town so we had an epic acorn fight and then headed for the beach. We found a nice part of the beach to park and walk on and stayed to watch the sunset and take more pictures. Hanging out on the beach was a blast.
That night we sat around the table and looked at all the pictures from the day and then played Spoons and Mafia.

Day 4
Pretty much started with site 188 packing up. Oh,and the tent collapsing on Carlos and Aaron.
This day also consisted of many small but unforgettable pranks. As Sam said “Next year,Its on.”
Although I have a feeling we won't wait another year to come back. After the ones who were going to leave that day packed up they moved their cars to our sites so they could stay and hang out for a bit longer. The day quickly flew by,maybe because we were all busy running around playing pranks, but sometime in the afternoon, the residents of site 188 decided it was time for them to leave. There was pranks played even as they drove away. Jimmy stayed even though he said he was going to leave, and we had a great dinner and enjoyed the warm fire. Jimmy eventually left, even though we all know he wanted to stay.

Day 5
This day was our last full day,and also a very relaxing one. Not doing much, with the exception of riding to the beach. It had warmed up so the bike ride was enjoyable and so was the opportunity to stick our feet in the water. We went out to dinner at a local beach side restaurant we had been to before and when we got back Alyssa and I watched a movie in our tent on my laptop.

Day 6
We had to be out by 11 so the morning started with packing up. I was developing a minor sore throat, but tried to ignore it. We packed up in good time and had some time to hang out, climb some trees and sit by the water and enjoy our last moments away from the hustle and bustle of life.

200 and what?

Would you believe this is my 201st post?
I didn't even realize it had been this long...

I started this blog some time last last year before I went to Colorado...and he we are a year later. 201 posts later.
Alot has happened this year, but I'll wait till the end of the year post to talk about it.

In a week we leave to go camping. To say I'm excited is an understatement. Needless to say, there will probably be no blog updates from next Sunday to Friday. If I can drop a note here and there to let you know we're all still alive and haven't froze,I will.

I can just see all the stories that will come out of this trip.

Heres the long over due video for Caleb and Sophie!
Thanks to anyone who sent me pictures for it!

Ahh November...how I shall miss you.

What a relief I found my planner. I lose things alot...yes we know. Keys,Camera,Script for the play.....but losing my planner was in the least,a temporary tragedy. Alas,I found it this morning...empty...waiting to be written in.
And thats exactly what I did....filled up this week to the brim. So much going on,and so many things to do. These next two weeks will be hectic to say the least. When I pass (Or if I pass) this ridiculous CPT test then, that will releave some hecticness.

I've discovered how awesome of an idea it is to use Podcasts to learn a new language... I haven't listened to them yet,but I have downloaded many that I'm very excited to try.
(They're free on iTunes in case you were wondering)

At the beginning of the year,I made a list with some friends. On the list was about 25 things that we either thought was going to happen/or hoped would happen during the year.
Well,we only have about a month left of this year so its about time to breakout that list and see what we can cross off. I looked at it a couple weeks ago and was extremely surprised how many things actually did happen. Makes me even more excited about next years list....

I'm not sure if that list is going to be posted in its entirety, but you can be sure there will be a vlog about it.

As the end of the year approaches....like always I make the "end of the year video".
I have yet to decide is its going to be pictures or pictures and videos....
So far its just pictures...
And I'm still looking for a song to put in it. I heard one on the radio the other day I wanted to use, yet I had no idea what it was and still cannot find it.

On that note, its only 12 days till camping!! Excited doesn't even begin to describe how I feel....

Thanks for reading and don't forget to follow! I think the button moved down to the right a bit...maybe under the panda....

Yup...

Maybe I'm not as good at this blogging thing as I thought I was...

Reading other friends blogs and realizing I could,In fact talk about alot more.

Like how much I really want Michael Bubles new cd.....but I decided to use reward points on an American Eagle gift card and not iTunes.
By the way,Michael just won won an AMA... good deal.

The countdown as reach 18 days until camping. You have no idea how excited Alyssa and I are about this.
Truly an epic trip. Lots of stories to be told,I'm sure.

Turkey Run is fast approaching. Hoping we'll have enough tickets for all the people wanting to come....We always do,so I'm not worried about it.

Decided I really want to travel...Talked to my sister tonight about how I have at least 6 different states I'd like to go visit friends in..oh and Canada (eah?) Not to mention friends in Austria I've promised to visit.
Guess I need a well paying job huh? Or a job for that matter...

Installing the A/C on my car...

I said I was going to blog about it....so I should

The Beatles on iTunes.

If you know the background behind the iTunes/Beatles controversy you understand why this is so epic.
Hopefully this means I will actually have album artwork for my preexisting collection of Beatles music.

I have more to blog about,but I don't have the time :)

Tuesday, November 9, 2010

Yea this week has been kinda weird. I can't convince myself its only Tuesday.
The end-ish of this week is kinda full so maybe thats why......

Run down of the week? Gladly.

Wednesday-Service,Play Rehearsal
Thursday- School,Meeting
Friday- School,Climbing,Freaks and Geeks
Saturday- Disney,BBVD concert at Epcot

Speaking of Freaks and Geek.......
You should definitely come. Sing up for the Graphic Design contest while you're at it,I need a partner.

I need to take my CPT test at some point too....

"BCBG Last Call" outlet store? My new favorite thing ever. Even if it is in a weird kinda abandon mall.

Thats about all....

190....

This is my 190th post.
Maybe once I get to 200 I'll do something fancy.

Thanks to Picasa 3 face finder,I made a huge collage with pictures friends faces.
Click to see it bigger on Flickr. (Did that rhyme?)

Thanks to Picasa 3 face finder...

For the record... Taylor Swifts new CD is epic! Epic I tell you!
I have yet to pick a favorite track, nevertheless less it is indeed awesome.
Most defiantly worth going over my normal CD budget to buy the deluxe edition.

Going camping mid-December,should be a blast! I realized that about half of our group this year are first-timers. Its one thing to have never camped, but its quite another to have never camped with our posse.
I'm slightly scared....for them.
I'm not sure they realize what they're getting themselves into.
I think these pictures say it all.

Tuesday, November 2, 2010

Go-Karting footage...

Here we have Alyssa,Dawn,Kevin,Juno,Mason,Me,Oji,Sheyenne and Mac (In that order).

And a picture of this group as well.

Fall Video Blog

Its taken me weeks to finish this.... it was originally 20 minutes and I had to edit alot out and get the file size down to less than 150MB.... finally I got it up today :)
Unfortunately, because or times sake some very amusing things had to be edited out,but maybe they'll make it in the end of the year video.

Enjoy!

This should probably go on my photography blog, but since I'm not sure who still reads that,I'll put it here too.

http://www.digital-photography-school.com/what-they-dont-tell-you-about-being-a-wedding-photographer-2

The above article is so great. Wedding photography is so different from anything else you'll ever shoot. You really do end up doing so many other things that just taking pictures. I think having more than one photographer for your wedding is such a great idea. I was just looking at some pictures from a wedding Jackie Beale Photography did with another Photographer. Absolutely stunning. Having a photographer there to get the not so common or traditional shots and be there for the things you're main photographer may miss because of shooting something else is genius. People should've of thought of that ages ago.

My photography site needs updating, but between the fact I haven't had the time recently to take some amazing shots or put any kind of shoot together and my HD on my computer is having some minor issues.... nothing new has been added on my site recently.
Really, because I just got a new tri-pod,I should have something to show...yet it sits there....in the corner.
Maybe at the Heathrow Art Festival,or maybe even Disney tomorrow I'll get a good shot.

Anywhoo....

Thats enough photography blabber for now....Even though I could talk about it all day.

Come to this >  http://seminolefreaksandgeeks.com/

I love October

Fall is here!
This means many things...
  • New blog layout!
  • Chilly weather.
  • Bonfires.
  • Leaves slowly changing.
  • Outdoor activities without dieing because of the heat.
Yes,it is quite nice for this change of weather. I'm not sure if its the fall weather or not but it seems like alot of things are changing.Of course not all the way we would like to see them change but still,Its change.

As you may or may not know I've taken up the sport of rock climbing. Indeed something I enjoy very much. Some people take up football, ping pong, going to the gym 3 times a week,etc....for me,rock climbing is my sport of choice. Its one of the best workouts I think I've ever gotten! Be assured it is not as easy as it seems. Nevertheless you are welcome to join us anytime :)
I've been trying to go twice a week, yet somethings seems to always come up,but this week I did manage to fit it in twice. Like all sports and activities its something you end of having to buy your own equipment for. That's where the reason I need a job comes in. Special rock climbing shoes are insanely expensive. I'd rather pay $75 on stilettos thank you. But as always I shopped around and found some shoes that are on sale due to the fact they only have one size left. Yes,it happens to be my size. This makes me extremely happy.

I've probably bored you with all this climbing talk.

What else is new?
Hum...
School: I have 3 subjects left and then Seminole State is the Spring.
Car: Ordered A/C unit FINALLY. More reason I need a job pronto.

Something just flew into the window....

Thanks as always for reading this and don't forget to check out my Flickr (I update that way more than my blog).

Hot Sauce Documentary is still in production but coming very soon!!!

So many things, so little blog space

Ok,so remember that 5k? The one I was supposed to do the 7 week training for? The one I never did?
Yea that one...

Well I've found another one to do this Friday and you should do it too.

Heres a link to the info  http://pastrypuff.blogspot.com/2010/10/what-are-you-doing-this-friday-morning.html

You can no longer use the hot weather as your excuse,as the weather has cooled down tremendously.
If you want to extend your Friday fitness you can also come rock climbing with the crew that afternoon.
Just say'n.....

Also, heres a few things you need to remember that in no way relate to this Friday.
TODAY DAVID ARCHULETAS ALBUM IS IN STORES.
October 19th-ASWs new CD!

I think thats it...

See you Friday?

Its about time....

Finally getting some videos from the ASW concert up...

Warning:Its really loud.

"Hey Princess" ASW at House Of Blues

Friday, September 17, 2010

Where did it go? I think I lost it...

Its the middle of September already and I feel like summer never happened. Sometime between May and now I stopped doing school and made a list of things to do that never got done. Well kinda...I did alot of things on the "List of things to do over summer" list. Nothing major besides buy a car....
Even though I look back at all my pictures from summer,Its like it never happened.Weird right?
Maybe the same thing happened to you,so heres a bunch of pictures from May till now.

Its been a long week....agreed?

Thursday, September 2, 2010

I'm still here....I think.

Long time no blog!!
Its true...even though I said it would never happen,I've gotten quite lazy about blogging...
Tisk tisk...
Where to start...humm...
I'm not really sureee....had a crazy dream that ASW was playing a show in Georgia and I went with them half was but had to be back by 4 that afternoon for some reason so we stopped at a Perkins and ate and then I came back.
I don't really understand it either.
Times like this that makes you wonder what else you dream that you don't remember.

Been kinda a long week.....But my schedule is all kind of out of sync so maybe thats why it feels so long. Stuff that happened on Monday feels like it should've happened on Wednesday. And then Wednesday was just confusing and didn't feel like Wednesday.
And now its only Thursday but it sure doesn't feel like it.

Went to the Optometrist on  um....I think it was Monday...who knows.
Anywho...one eye changed and the other didn't.
Kinda weird but whatever.... Looking forward to getting the Sunglasses I ordered from Zenni Optical (I blogged about that site a while back.)

So thats about it I guess...
Heres my week so far, each day with 5 words.

  • Monday- Service,Sushi,Eyes,Shopping,Music
  • Tuesday-Service,Library,Consignment,Lazy,Skype
  • Wednesday-Shopping,Cinabon,Shoes,Late,Karaoke

All Star Weekend Concert with special guest “7 Months Later”, “Before You Exit”, and “Action Item”

So last night was the long awaited ASW concert at House Of Blues.

I’ll tell the stories in order so it doesn’t get confusing.

Arrived at the venue about 5:30 just as doors were opening. Long line to get in,but we expected that. Security apparently didn’t care about checking my bag but I was happy because that meant I got my camera in without any problems. Got in and decided we should find a spot. the floor was pretty full but we decided we’d go down there anyways.

Concert started a bit early if I remember right. First band was a local band called “7 Months Later”. Cool group of young guys.

DSCF6507

Next up was another local band I had heard about and looked up called “Before You Exit”.  By this time we had moved from the back of the floor to the side by the stairs.

DSCF6514

Sometime between this band and the next we ran into Nick Davila from “7 Months Later” and he signed my book. (Picture of that later) He seemed kinda rushed and I felt band about him getting sharpie all over his hand so I didn’t ask for a picture.

Then Adam Sliger from the same band came over and we asked for a picture and asked him to sign the book and he offered to take it back to have the rest of the guys sign it too. Which he did and came back with tons of signatures and even one from Dillon from ASW. Heres our picture with him.

DSCF6520

After that “Action Item” played their set. They are on tour with ASW right now and a really cool band from N.J. that are also kind of well known.

DSCF6524

Around that time we got closer on the floor and eventually got all the way to the front yet I have no idea how.

ASW came on and did a kind of short set with their songs and one cover of “1985”. And Cameron also said that was the year his dad graduated. Speaking of Cameron's dad,at one point by the stairs during one of the other bands sets I stood next to him. I didn’t say anything like “Hey your Cameron's dad!” because I didn’t wanna freak him out.

DSCF6546

DSCF6534

I have videos too,but I’ll post them in another post later. My sign got noticed and I got sung to kinda….its confusing. Anyways…

After ASW they had a Meet and Greet but the line was insane so we opted out of that one. But that didn’t end the fun.

We hadn’t eaten so we went to the HOB restraunt to grab bite to eat. After that we were going to check on the M&G line but they weren’t letting people back in.  But we did see some of the guys from the other bands hanging out so we went over there.

The first guy I talked to was Thomas, who is a drummer for “Before You Exit”. I went up to him and he introduced himself and asked me my name and then I showed him the notebook that Adam had taken back for me and asked him if he had signed it yet and he replied “Yea I was the one who wrote that in there!”  (He had written: To:Girl with notebook! I want to meet you! love Thomas”) I was like “No way that was you!” and hes like “Yea I can’t believe it!” So he then said “I’m going to cross that out and put your name instead!” Which he did and here's a picture.

DSCF6557

DSCF6564

Then we took a picture and talked for a bit and he was honestly so incredibly nice.

DSCF6558

Then I walked around to the other side of HOB and found the gate that ASW’s van was parked behind.

DSCF6559

Waited for a bit then saw Dillon and called him over so he came out and we asked about the rest of the guys and he said they were still in M&G but he’d tell them we were out here. He was really sweet and I took a picture with him too.

DSCF6560

Then I saw a guy who I thought was from the local band and went up to him and talked to him,he signed my notebook took a picture,he hung out for a while, saw two other of his band mates, took a picture, talked to them and whatnot….

DSCF6561 DSCF6562

It wasn’t until later that I realized they were actually from “Action Item”. Crazy only because they’re kinda popular. Oh,and super sweet. I kinda regret not buying their CD because he was caring them around in that box in the picture, but I promised him I’d get it off iTunes.

After that we kinda just waited around for ASW….but apparently M&G went on forever because we never saw them. Sad but true. At lease I got to meet all those other awesome bands :)

Thats about it…

Oh here's the notebook.

DSCF6563

And here's a picture ASW posted, you can see me kinda to the left of Cameron's guitar with the yellow sign. But I’m kinda blocked too by Cameron.
